Multilingual daycare centers

With its wide range of multilingual and bilingual daycare centers, Berlin is doing justice to its multicultural population. Early language development is important for understanding and communication in society.

In a bilingual daycare center, communication takes place in the mother tongue and another language. This gives children who speak a different language at home the opportunity to learn German at an early age. Conversely, children are given the opportunity to learn a language in addition to their mother tongue.
